RetroBuild is a structural-engineering analysis and design app for civil engineers, architects, and construction students. Core features include:
All calculations are performed entirely on-device using deterministic structural-engineering formulas. The app does not use artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
When you use the app you may enter the following information, which is saved only to the SQLite database on your device:
This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any cloud service by us (Android's standard ADB backup is allowed but is controlled by you).
The app stores one preference flag — whether you have purchased the Pro upgrade — in Android DataStore on your device. This is used only to enable/disable Pro features locally.
When you export a report, the PDF is written to the app's private cache directory and shared with your chosen app (e.g. email, cloud storage) via Android's FileProvider. We do not upload or transmit the PDF anywhere ourselves.
RetroBuild declares no Android permissions in its manifest. The app does not request access to:
Google Play Billing communicates with Google Play Services through the Play Store app, which is a system-level component. This communication does not require the app itself to hold an INTERNET permission.
| Service | Purpose | Data Shared | Provider Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Play Billing | Process one-time Pro purchase (₹249) | Purchase token & product ID — handled entirely by Google Play | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google Fonts (Compose) | Download typefaces at runtime for UI typography | Font requests are served by Google; no personal data is sent | Google Fonts Privacy FAQ |
We do not use any analytics SDK, crash-reporting service, advertising network, or social-media SDK. No user behaviour is tracked or profiled.
RetroBuild offers a single, one-time purchase called RetroBuild Pro. Payment is processed exclusively through the Google Play Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details. All purchase and refund questions are handled by Google Play.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. The only data that leaves your device is what Google Play handles during the billing flow (see Section 5).
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights, but because we store no user data on our servers, there is nothing for us to disclose.
All app data (projects, materials, preferences) is stored on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You can delete individual projects or materials from within the app at any time.
To delete all data permanently, uninstall RetroBuild from your device. Uninstalling removes the SQLite database, DataStore preferences, and all cached PDF files.
RetroBuild does not transmit user data over the network, which eliminates the most common data-security risk. Data on your device is protected by Android's application sandbox — other apps cannot access RetroBuild's database without root access. We use Android's FileProvider to share PDFs safely without exposing the file system.
RetroBuild is designed for civil engineering professionals, architects, and students. It is not directed at or intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Because all data is stored on your own device, you have full control:
For purchase-related data held by Google, please refer to Google's privacy controls at myaccount.google.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users through the app or the Play Store listing. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
